Sorry to hear that. Did you try their free trial? If not, that’s the first thing you should do before prepaying for any service, if possible.

Said they gave you 15% discount and therefore cannot cancel but at the next renewal. Did not even use a month. Waste of money.

Comment on Peacock vs. Paramount Plus: Which Streaming Service is Better? by John Schmoll, MBA https://www.frugalrules.com/peacock-vs-paramount-plus/#comment-219668 Fri, 05 May 2023 02:39:14 +0000 https://www.frugalrules.com/?p=57804#comment-219668 In reply to kcfield.

We honestly view them as complimentary, but not everyone is of that line of thinking and the two companies don’t. 🙂 That said, that’s a terrific option to save money. If that will get you the majority of the content you already watch, it’s a no-brainer to us. 🙂

I view Peacock and Paramount + as complimentary rather than competitive. We are thinking about cancelling our 100.00 a month DISH plan (when our contract expires) and subscribing to Paramount + (through Amazon Prime) for 9.99 a month and also subscribing independently to Peacock (9.99 a month plan). For 20.00 a month instead of 100.00 (not including the Prime subscription which will be the same cost either way), we will get to watch all of our NBC shows through Peacock and all of our CBS shows through Paramount +. NBC and CBS comprise 90% of all the shows we watch outside of Amazon Prime. The only investment we will need is a smart TV, which will pay for itself in four or five months with the $80.00 a month savings. Wondering what you think of this cord cutting (or DISH cutting plan)?

And you can get the same food through Balance by BistroMD a la carte for a lower cost, and avoid the shipping charge if you spend $99 or more.

Comment on Best YouTube TV Alternatives: 5 Top Competitors For Live Streaming by John Schmoll, MBA https://www.frugalrules.com/youtube-tv-alternatives/#comment-219003 Wed, 22 Mar 2023 17:15:50 +0000 https://www.frugalrules.com/?p=43595#comment-219003 In reply to Sarah M Buice.

Sorry to hear about your situation, and understand it can be frustrating. However, streaming pricing is not as bad as cable yet. Cable/satellite still have contracts and hidden fees, streaming services do not. Additionally, there are more choices beyond these premium, cable-like services. What shows do you watch? If you don’t need a lot of channels, or live TV there are plenty of options out there available for significantly less.

I had Hulu. When Hulu raised price I read Clark Howard and switched to You tube. But now it is raising price. I cut the cord to save money but now streaming is getting as expensive. You tube says because of sports well we do not watch sports. Streaming you have to do several to get movie channels. It is becoming as expensive as cable. Ridiculous. At a time when inflation is strapping everyone financially and we are retired and have set incomes and my husband and I a d e both disabled. I think it is a crime. They should let those who want the Xtra sports channels pay more and leave us who do not pay reg I large price. Do not be greedy Jenks like cable. Otherwise what is the point. We will look for alternative cause between doctor and regular expenses
it is greedy to do this. Very disappointed.

Comment on Tello vs. Ting – Which is the Best Cheap Cell Phone Plan? by Mike Eff https://www.frugalrules.com/tello-vs-ting/#comment-218765 Wed, 08 Mar 2023 03:19:56 +0000 https://www.frugalrules.com/?p=48920#comment-218765 I’ve been a long time Ting customer but right now (Feb-Mar 2023) Ting customer support is cratering.
Their parent Dish was hit by a cyber attack and management is clueless about the importance of communicating status with customers. Web site is unhelpful and CS refers you to social media (NOT their forums) for information (WTH).
From the recent forum posts many folks have had enough and ‘are out of here’.
